GC-MS Analyst - Fragrance IndustryLocation: LancashireSector: Fragrance / Analytical ChemistryJob Type: Full-time, PermanentAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a GC-MS Analyst to join a global manufacturer specialising in high-quality fragrance compounds, perfumes, and aroma ingredients used across various industries.Due to continued growth, we're looking to expand the analytical department with a motivated individual who will support the preparation, analysis, and formulation of fragrance compositions. Please note, this is primarily a desk-based, computer-focused role.Key Responsibilities:Prepare samples for GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) analysisAnalyse fragrance samples to identify and quantify component materialsInterpret essential oil data to determine specific oils presentCreate and develop fragrance formulas based on analytical dataPerform basic maintenance on GC-MS instrumentsUpdate and maintain essential oil databases to support analysis and formulationRequirements:A degree (or equivalent) in Analytical Chemistry or a related field, with a focus on GC and MS techniquesExperience operating and maintaining GC-MS systemsProficiency in analysing GC-MS data, ideally within the context of fragrance or essential oil ingredientsStrong understanding of essential oils and their components is highly desirableIf you're an analytical chemist with a passion for fragrances and an eye for detail, we'd love to hear from you.To apply, please send an up-to-date Word version of your CV.
